Reviews of Chilling, Thrilling Sounds of the Haunted House
Turn off the lights and be afraid
I have nostalgia for this album because our elementary school music teacher would play it for us every year with the lights off. It was very scary. The Disney sound fx team did a great job and forever will be a classic.
not so chilling

but perfect for Halloween.
There are only cues worth having. Didn't want the woman talking.
These songs are nothing without the touch of Phish

what a great cover album. amazing.
I had completely forgotten about this classic album we had when I was a child until it was resurrected by Phish at the recent Halloween shows in Las Vegas.
we had this album when we were kids.we would
play it on halloween night when handing out candy.
i remember kids being so scared when they heard it playing
and they wouldnt even come up to the house.we also played
it at some haunted houses we put on.so when i saw this here
on itunes i just had to get it.i give this a 5 star,but i have a problem
with one track not playing, and that is Unsafe Bridge.
Spooky, classic fun
I'm jumping up and down..so excited I found this. Brings back a lot of happy Halloween (and Disney, for that matter) memories.
This LP scared the pants off of us 70's kids. We would listen on our portable Grease record player, sneaking a listen under the blankets with my sister until we would running half screaming half giggling into my mom's room. A perfect slice of nostalgia and still a great spook! My sister still has our vinyl copy that she plays every year, often phoning me to play a minute or two for our amusement. I am so happy to get a digital copy.
I still have the original vinyl of this album. Looking back on it, certainly a lot of it is hokey. But the "high on a hilltop near your home stands a dilapidated old mansion" part still stirs my imagination. The whole record is excellent as a time capsule of scary Disney sound effects.
